‘Preparations’ – PITCH

*Some of the ideas presented here have been slightly altered since the creation of this pitch. For example, the hitman was no long 'a washed up actor' instead his motivations are unclear, except for his intentions for the Doctor. Also, the 'business man' has now became a Doctor who was extorting his unwell patients for money in numerous ways.

Concept:

The concept of my short movie is to explore the human psyche and what motivates us to do extraordinary things, such as money.

Setting:

The entirety of ‘Preparations’ will take place in a dark garage, lit by a single strip light.

Synopsis:

The story follows a rookie hitman set to murder a business man accused of stealing a million pounds’ worth of bonds, however when the hitman gets the information he needs, he suddenly has a change of heart.

Characters:

James Tarrant – A 25-ish year old business man who’s act of stealing has landed him in a difficult situation.

Hitman – A washed up actor looking to make money quick, at any means.

Lighting:

The majority of ‘Preparations’ will be shot in low lighting to emphasise the dark subject nature.
